It was the twenty first of September and that meant it was time for the school annual welcome back back. Ellyon wasn't one for dressing up but she had no choice as she didn't really want to be stuck in the common all night on her own so she made the effort to dress up. She also found that it was a good chance to chat with her friends from the other houses as you could always catch them on a daily basis with classes and homework and all that. So she went into her trunk and pulled out the dress that she knew her mother would have packed for her knowing they would have some sort of ball at the start of the year. It was wrapped in scarlet packaging and tied with a golden ribbon. Typical of her mother to wrap it in her houses colours. Though when Ellyon had undone the ribbon she was expecting to find a dress that match the wrapping but what she found was very different.
Inside was a black dress folded neatly in the the scarlet paper. Lifting up Ellyon could feel that it was made of some sort of silk material. Holding it up in front of her she found that it reached to just past her knees which was a respectable length for the ball. Also it had a white and silver-grey feather like design over the right shoulder which went across her chest and down her right side. Nothing to flash on it just something to make it look nice. Just the way Ellyon liked it. So slipping into the gown she looked at herself in the mirror and was glad when the dress fit her alright. The she brushed her hair before using a bit of magic to hold it into place and stop it from flopping into her eyes while she was at the ball. Sitting down of the scarlet covers Ellyon lent down and picked a pair of black slightly heeled shoes which she strapped onto her feet.
Now ready Ellyon made her way out of the girls dormitory and though the hall to the common room. Other from her house where already their some waiting for dates who where lucky enough to have them. After passing though the fat ladies portrait hole she decided to take the longer way down to the great hall and went down the ever changing staircase. It took her ten minutes to get from the seventh floor right the way down to the ground floor as she had to wait at the forth floor while the staircase changed. Walking into the great hall she found it was all done up in autumn red, orange and golds which was the colours of the trees outside. The candles that floated above her head where in the shape of autumn tress with their branches twirling up around the flames. It was a amazing site and Ellyon couldn't wait for her friends to show up.

Circe was excited about the Ball. She, like most of the girls at Hogwarts, had been debating over what to wear. Her Grandfather would be no help, since he was a man, and men didn’t give women fashion advice. It was the other way round. So, when Circe had needed help for dresses, she had gone to one of the Gryffindor girls for advice. Currently, she was looking at herself in the mirror that she had charmed to levitate. She wanted to look good for tonight. Usually, she wouldn’t care about her appearance but tonight was different. It was the ball to welcome back everyone. Once the great-niece of the school’s headmaster had donned her dress, which was a short black dress, she moved on to make-up and hair. It was painstakingly long but it was worth it. She didn’t get dressed up very often. Circe sighed when she had finished everything. She didn’t want to look like a weirdo. Once she was satisfied with her appearance, Circe grabbed her purse and made her way to the common room. She saw some fellow housemates and bade a hello to them before going to the Great Hall, passing the Fat Lady’s portrait and onto the ever-changing staircases. You had to be careful, since which staircase led to where. The Fifth Year Gryffindor girl walked into the entrance of the Great Hall, and marvelled at the layout. It was wonderful. It was all done up in autumn red, orange and gold, which was the colours of the trees outside. The candles that floated above her head were in the shape of autumn trees with their branches twirling up around the flames. Circe smiled when she Ellyon. “Hall looks amazing, doesn’t it?”Dress here

In the forth year girls dorm in the Slytherin common room a lot of activity was happening. Astoria had others in her year running around to help her get ready while they tired to get themselves ready as she was going to be the bell of the ball and she need a lot of help to be ready in time. And being the queen be of the fourth years she had to look good for event, even if it was just something as simple as the welcome back ball. All around her girls of her year where doing her hair zipping up her dress fetching her shoes and showing her different accessories that she could wear to go with her dress. She pointed to the one she wanted to wear on the other girls scooted off as the one she chose handed her the necklace and earrings one by one as Astoria attached them.
Once she was dress the girls moved away and she stepped into her shoes for the night before gracefully walking over to the mirror in the corner of the dorm to see how she looked. Standing in front of it she surveyed the gown that she was wearing. It was made of a long delicate silvery material that reached right down the the floor as should a proper gown worn by a proper witch. Astoria had never considered anything other than pureblood to be a proper witch or wizard. If you wasn't a pureblood your wasn't wore to waist time on. So after smoothing out her gown and checking that her hair was held in the correct place by magic a soft smile come to her now crimson lips as she turned on her heel and gracefully headed out of the forth girls dormitory to meet her date how should be waiting for her in the common room.
Entering the slytherin common room she found a certain Mr. Harper waiting for her stood by one of the leather bond sofa's in the center of the room. As she approached he held out his arm and she took it as she reached his side as they walked out of the common room into the dungeon hallways to the stair well that lead up into the entrance hall. With the staircase being narrow her date went up first and when her reached the top her gave her a hand up the last few steps before the resumed their previous position of being arm in arm. From there it didn't take them long to reach them the great hall which was done up in the usual autumn decorations. . The pair pushed passed the two Gryffindors in the year above who was near the door and made their way further into the great hall to a wait for some more suitable company.

Dress? Check. Make-up? Check. Shoes? Check. Clutch? Placing her wand into her clutch, magically enhanced to fit a larger object, yet still be compact, Bethany laid it back on the bed; check. Glancing around the room Beth made sure that everything she needed was laid out nicely on her bed, as to avoid anything getting lost in the mess occupying the girl’s dorm at the moment. The normally slightly messy room was in complete disarray, due to the fact that the ball was starting shortly. Girls crowded the mirrors in the bathroom, applying make-up, tying hair up into elaborate styles. Picking up her dress, Beth made her way into the bathroom, changing into her dress upon finding an empty stall. Emerging from the bathroom, Bethany smoothed out a ruffle in her otherwise pristine dress. It was a simple dress, with thick straps and a length that just hit her knee. The fabric was red, which had a smooth look to it. Looking at her reflection in a full length mirror, Beth turned to and fro. It wasn't often she wore anything outside of jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts. However, all of the girls had commented positively on her dress once she had changed, so Bethany was feeling slightly better. Digging a small handheld mirror out of her school trunk, she set to work on her make-up. After applying dark eye shadow and mascara, she was satisfied with her appearance, letting the rest of her face go natural. After running a brush through her hair a few times, Bethany's hair was complete. Naturally straight, there was nothing else that had to be done. Besides, why would she spend all that time on a hairstyle which would come out later on in the night? Slipping into her black shoes, Beth checked for any imperfections in her dress, then, finding none, picked up her small black clutch and headed downstairs. Arriving in the common room, Beth gazed over all the finely dressed men and women of Hogwarts. Half of them she didn't recognize, or wouldn't have, had she not known them for several years. It was amazing how different people could look when a tux or dress was added to the mix. Several anxious heads lifted on hearing her heels click on the stairs, before nervously staring back at the ground. It was obvious their dates had yet to show, and they were nervous about the night before them. Smiling to herself, Bethany passed by a few friends and their dates, giving a small greeting before setting off again. She wasn’t going to intrude on someone’s night with their date. Starting down a side passageway, Beth walked down the length of it, pausing at the entrance to make sure her dress was in the proper place and using a little magic to make sure it stayed that way. Appearing at the top of the staircase which would take her to the great hall, Beth descended with as much grace as she could muster. Candles floated lazily in the air, a small breeze from the open corridors threatening to blow them out. Beth welcomed the cool breeze, happy to have moving air to take away from the heat provided by everyone gathering together for the ball. Looking into the Great Hall, Beth heard music playing softly from where she stood, and decided to head into where everyone was dancing and the ball was being held. Walking into the room was like entering another world. Reds and golds - autumn colors - dominated the color scheme and the candles resembled trees, their branches twirling up around the flames. It was absolutely breathtaking. Not much of a dancer, Beth mostly came to talk with some close friends and listen to the music. Upon seeing her two of her closest friends, Ellyon and Circe, Beth made her way over to them just in time to hear CC comment on the ball. "I would agree with that statement, Circe. The hall looks completely different." Smiling at her friends, Beth was happy that she had come. Click here!**Bethany is the second from the right. Sorry about the picture, it was the best I could find of her red dress.**

A Welcome Back Ball? That was interesting! At least for Ron.He couldn't forget the last one last year it was a disaster. He was looking like a complete idiot with those ridiculous dress robes. And on the top of that he had to sit and watch Hermione with Krum!Of course after that they had a huge fight but it didn't lasted long they were friends no matter who she was dating. The truth is that Ron was actually a bit jealous of Krum..okay not just a bit.He hated the fact that she went at the Ball with him and he knew deep inside that there was something more than going at the Ball together. He hated it,what did this Krum guy had that he didn't?Okay,he didn't had have fame, money and glory but still Krum was an idiot and Ron had a lot more things than him! This Ball was actually different,at least he could wear a nice suit and not his old dress robes. He wore his pants and slowly closed his white shirt's buttons. He looked himself a bit at the mirror,he was a bit nervous "Bloody Hell!" he muttered, why he was nervous?Neither he knew,he just was. After he wore his tie he looked at himself a bit more, his hair was okay,at least he wasn't looking like an idiot. He lastly wore his tux jacket and looked once again himself at the mirror,he smiled and decided to go down stairs at the Great Hall. After leaving the Gryffindor tower he walked down the big staircase.Everyone was looking really good in their dress robes with their dates thing that made him wish that he wasn't like an idiot, then he thought he looked a bit like one because he seemed to be one of the only boys without a date. He entered the Great Hall and he saw Circe with Ellyon and Bethany talking about the changed Great Hall.He also saw a Slytherin girl, her name was Greengrass or at least this is what he thought her name was, that pushed them a bit with her date another Slytherin obviously. "Hello ladies!" he said with a bit teasing way and a small gesture.Charlie (the lady's man of the family) had once told him that he must act more like a gentleman in front of the girls, something like that seemed completely out of Ron's character but he thought that he had to be more polite with girls if he ever wanted a girlfriend, thing that he indeed wanted but he had a specific girl in mind. "So,what do you girls think about the Ball so far?"he asked them as he was looking around at the beautifully decorated Great Hall. wearing this!

Jacob had washed and brushed him self up, he knew Bethany would be at the ball even though he really didn't want to go he was still suffering from the full moon incident and he felt he wanted to do nothing but sit in his room and be alone to recover. Though he knew that would do no good to do such a thing and so decided the worst he could do was drop in to the ball. Slipping on his white shirt and jacket he kept some of his individuality buy waring jeans under the jacket. With a quick brush of his hair he found it fell away from his face this time exposing his blue eyes for all to see. Was it a good thing he didn't care, sliding his hands into his pockets he looked at himself in the mirror and shrugged that he'd do , his shoes were polished the one thing he enjoyed doing was cleaning his shoes he like how they looked after. Moving from his room he closed and locked his door slipping the key into his pocket it was a muggle thing but he felt happier doing this , why he didn't know nor care. Moving down the corridor he saw several people all talking and smiling yet he did not smile but just continued down to to the ball room. Looking around he saw girls all with dates and in fancy dresses mulling around the floor he saw Bethany and gave a small weak smile. To him she looked beautiful but he would not tell her. She had helped him threw the transformation that year had brought but he felt his after nightmare had scared her away. He could not take his eyes from her but eventually he did looking to wards the refreshment stand and the drinks there. Moving to the stand he lifted a drink from the punch bowl and pored it into a cup slowly. Taking a sip he sighed making sure he didn't spill any on his jacket.
