can you feel this magic in the air? it must have been the way you kissed me, It had been a month since Justin had seen his ancestor, Rowena Ravenclaw. She had said for him to aid the famous Boy-Who-Lived with defeating the Dark Lord. However, Justin hadn’t been able to. Well, he had been able to, but he just wasn’t ready for people to know yet. He was sure the others felt the same, at least he hoped they did. Sure, Justin wanted to help Harry and all that, but he didn’t know how he could help. Surely, he could do this by himself, with the help of Hermione and Ron, of course. He then mentally chided himself for being selfish. He then had an idea – maybe he could tell his House. Maybe they wouldn’t be weird about it. He hoped they wouldn’t.
Justin was currently in the Ravenclaw Common Room, finishing off some homework. He always liked to finish homework early, that way he could relax. He didn’t understand why people left their work until the last minute. Why leave homework and then begin panicking. It made no sense to the Fifth Year. When he had finished his homework, Justin brought a book on advanced spells down. He may be a Fifth Year student but he was proficient in the use of magic, and was even Hermione Granger’s rival in a way.
Justin’s mind seemed to split into two: one half on the book of spells and the other on his problem. The more he thought about it the more it bothered the Ravenclaw student. He had to tell someone. Maybe then he could fully concentrate on the book he was reading. He looked around the Common Room. He wondered where Cho and Luna were. And the 6th Year kid called Aster. They needed to know. Maybe they could help. Yes, that’s what he would do: he’d tell his House.
Justin looked to the people who were in the room already but didn’t want to announce it to people he didn’t know very well. He’d wait for Cho and Luna to be here before telling.

Aster sat in one of the cosy armchairs of the Ravenclaw common room, strumming delicately over the strings of his bouzouki, softly singing an old Irish folk tune his grandfather had taught him when he was a child. The soothing music filled his ears and the others of the common room, pacifying the stress of the day.
He noticed Justin enter the common room, the two of them were close friends, what with being on the Quidditch Team together, he was a bright kid, well he had to be to be in Ravenclaw to be fair, and Aster knew he was gonna go far in life but he couldn't help but notice an air of worry surrounding the boy as he slouched into his book
Aster placed his bouzouki into his case and stood, approaching the boy "A young man's mind should never fear to speak it's thoughts when friends are near" he sprouted with his Irish accent "Penny for your thoughts?"

It was a beautiful day out for a nice flight, but after flying around for a few hours, Cho was starting to get rather bored so she decided it was time to go inside. She had been practicing for quidditch a little bit she really hadn't had much time to practice lately. She headed to the broom closet and throw her stuff in there not even caring to pout it in the right place for tomorrow she would wake up and go out flying again. Cho walked through the corridors back to the ravenclaw common room which was actually located in one of the high towers.
Cho passed several people along the way and would say hey and occasionally stop to have a small chat every once in awhile. Cho felt like chilling in the common room and talking with friends for a little while. When she got to the common room she noticed that Justin was sitting by himself she could also hear Aster playing music and singing in the corner. She walked over to Justin but Aster beat her to the chase so she sat down next to him and waited for her chance to say something. She could tell that something was wrong but she wasn't sure what.
After Aster had finished talking she looked over at Justin and said, "Hey Justin, is everything alright? Do you need to talk about something?" Cho hoped that nothing was wrong with Justin but hoped he knew he could talk to her about anything! She felt really bad because she typically did when really close friends, like Justin, acted as if something was wrong. Cho sat there and hoped that Justin was alright. Then she looked around the common room and wondered where Luna because she was usually always lurking around somewhere in the common room. She didn't remember seeing Luna out on the Quidditch field either but there were a lot of people out there so it was very possible that she was, and Cho just didn't notice. Cho looked back at Justin and then up to Aster.

The library was boring, and too quiet for him. Usually a nice quiet corner was all Alexander ever really wanted, but today he just felt so restless. He could not keep his attention on his books, and the parchment he was suppose to write for Charms just seemed to disappear in his cloud of thought. Alexander decided that he was going to write it all off as a bad cause, and return to the Ravenclaw tower. He was a quiet sort of person, not often speaking out to others, but keeping to himself in one of the corners while the others had all the fun. Alexander was too shy to be outgoing, and he felt others thought he was strange because of his habits. He did not mind too much, he prefered the company of a good book to a long conversation in which he would have to participate and come up with things to actually say.
Alexander was not stupid in the least, he just did not have the courage to be the life of the party like some of his other classmates seemed to be able to do. He could sit and watch people and completely memorize their mannerisms, but he could not stand up in front of a group of his peers and suggest they play a game. He thought of these things as he tucked his books away in his tote, and moved through the library with his eyes downcast and his mind a flutter. The walk to the tower was not long, he had memorized three different paths he could take and his feet just seemed to move along the aisles of students, and down the empty corridors. He mumbled that answer to the riddle, and the door swung open. Alexander moved into the common room and was taken aback by how many people seemed to be waiting. Alexander glanced around and thought that most of the Quidditch team was present. It must be some sort of sports meeting.
Alexander nodded if someone happened to look his way, but he remained silent and found the furtherst corner of the room, and an over stuffed old chair that was tucked away. He sat his tote down quietly, and glanced back over his shoulder. He waited a moment for someone to tell him he was not allowed to be here for this meeting, or some words along the same line. However, no one mentioned a thing, so Alexander sat down. He pulled the first book from the shelf next to him, and opened it on his lap. His eyes traced the words, but he read nothing. Now, as it usually was when there were others around, Alexander was curious. He kept quiet, and watched, waited, and prepared for something interesting to happen.

Post by Luna Lovegood on Jun 9, 2011 19:05:36 GMT
Luna had been out in the grounds of Hogwarts by the Black lake looking into it depths seeing if she could see any gryndilows or merfolk who live in the schools lake. Though she hadn’t gone just to see them but also to see the known creatures of the lake but also see if she could see any unknown creatures or even possibly creatures that were eligibly in the lake. Her father had told her a tale the lead to believe as well as a giant octopus in the lake that there was also some kind of water dragon hidden in its depths which only came out to those who believe in it. Though it hadn’t been sighted often as not many believed in it. But Luna wasn’t your average girl at Hogwarts so she did believe the possibility of a water dragon hiding in the dark depths of the Black lake. Her father had wanted to do an article about it but wanted to wait until he could find out the basic looks of the dragon to give more proof as that’s what people where wanting these days. So Luna had decided to see if she could out its appearance so that he father could publish his article.
Though she had sadly not had any lick with a sighting of the water dragon and so when curfew was nearing headed back to the castle as she would try again another day. The chilly Scottish weather started to kick in as to winds whipped her blond hair around her face. It stung a little at times but it didn’t really bother Luna all that much as with the little stings of pain it let her know that her checks were still there. Once inside the protection of the castle Luna headed on up the stairs towards the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room which was one of the highest points in the castle. Quite clever since there animal representation was that of an eagle as it was like a little roost up in the air for her house. Though she knew that a lot of first years tended to moan about the long ascents and descents they had to make every day just in order to go to and from meals as well as changing books in between classes. Luna instead saw it as some good exercise as it helped keep most of her house fit and healthy from having to go up and down them daily.
Once at the door to the common room having climbed up the tower stairs Luna answered the riddle given to her by the door in her usual daydream voice and was allowed to pass into the common room. Once inside she noticed that there were a few people already gathered despite the common room being rather calm and quiet. Luna spotted Justin and smiled friendly to him as he didn’t make fun of her. Though looking around more she also spotted Alex who was sat alone reading. He looked rather lonely just sat there tucked away in the corner so since he was one of her few friends she decided to keep him company. “Hello Alex, reading anything interesting. I’ve just been down to the lake... looking for that water dragon my father says lives there.” Luna told him with a soft smile towards the fifth year. Alex was a little like Luna herself in that he had his own little ways others would think strange, so naturally the two had formed a little friendship since they could understand each other’s means for doing these seemingly strange things.

can you feel this magic in the air? it must have been the way you kissed me, Justin was so lost in thought that he hadn’t noticed Aster and Cho come over. He gave them a small smile but didn’t tell them outright. He was still debating whether he should or not. He had heard what they had said but he was too absorbed in his thoughts. He had to tell them – it was the right thing to do. He once again looked to his friends and thought about what would happen if they didn’t find out. Would they be in danger at some point if he told them? He didn’t want to put his friends in danger since he knew he would be in danger himself once he told Harry Potter and his friends about who his ancestor.
He couldn’t take it anymore. He had to tell them – they would find out at some point so he might as well tell them now. He got up suddenly and went to the staircase. He turned on the spot, and began wringing his hands. “Can I have your attention, please? Attention! Umm....not sure how to say this, but..but this summer gone, I was greeted by a very special ghost – the ghost of our beloved House – Rowena Ravenclaw. She told me I was her descendant and that I have to help Harry Potter defeat You-Know-Who, along with the other Founders’ descendants.”
Once he was done, he stood there, and waited; waited for the gasps of disbelief and outrage. He even half-expected someone to throttle him. He looked down at his feet and began to wring his hands again.

Aster stared at Justin as the whole common room went silent after he dropped the bombshell. Aster couldn't help it, he burst into a fit of laughter, rolling around on the blue carpet in stitches.
"Did you break into Dumbledore's Firewhiskey or something?" he laughed, Justin's expression did not falter however.
He straightened up, and stood up, he grabbed Justin's shoulders to look deep into his eyes. The window to the soul, and Aster saw it, the truth, he could tell that his comrade did not lie. He stumbled backwards in mild shock, he turned to the rest of the room before turning back to Justin
"The younger ones need not hear this" he whispered before turning to the rest of the room "Anyone not in the fourth year or above are to go to bed immediately"
No one moved
"I am your prefect, and that is an order" he shouted, he was scared but he was left in charge, the seventh year prefects were busy with Dumbledore on some academic business, and this news had unnerved him. The younger students opened their mouths to argue, but Aster raised his eyes, the piercing blue erupting. In silence they left.
Aster fell backwards onto an armchair, rubbing his temple, his mind spinning in overtime trying to work out what was going on
"Now, Justin" Aster said "Explain what's going on..."

Ravenclaw students started to fill into the common room, most of them seemed to sit around Justin. Cho wondered what was going on she looked around to see if she could ask anyone when Justin started to speak. When he had finished speaking Cho was astonished she didn't know what to say. She looked at Justin then at the rest of the students in the common room they all seemed to be super surprised. The first person to do anything was Aster he made all of the younger students get out of the common room which Cho agreed with, she would have down the same too.
Justin had always been a truthful person, so Cho strongly believed that he was telling the truth. The more Cho thought about it the more the he reminded her of Rowena Ravenclaw. They are both wise, strong leaders, truthful, friendly, and extremely honest. Cho saw and easily understood how they were related. Cho had already helped Harry Potter out some and would absolutely love to help him out some more. Cho would do everything that she could possible do to help Justin out.
After a few minutes the whole common room seemed to still be shocked. She looked at Justin and said, "I believe you Justin, you reminded me of Rowena Ravenclaw. Also I would love to help you out, with helping Harry defeat the well you-know-who." Cho smiled then added, "I would love to hear about your encounter with Rowena and what is what like to be told that your are her descendant, if you wouldn't mind telling." Cho looked at Justin then around the room.

A soft voice pulled him from his thoughts. He blinked his bright blue eyes a moment and realized that Luna Lovegood had joined him and spoke. He looked down to the book he had been pretending to read and found that he was holding it upside down. Others might think his mistake was odd, but he figured Luna would not even pay attention to the fact that Alexander was being strange again. Sometimes he enjoyed her company because out of all the people he had ever known, she never judged a soul. His heart beat picked up and he remembered one of the first time he had actually been alone with Luna.
Alexander had been brave that day, and this was something he was not often. He had posed a question to Luna that almost lead to his early exit from this incarnation. Yes, the first time he was alone with Luna Alexander had almost died. The question might have been innocent enough, but the suggestion of following up on the question to find out the answer had almost been the downfall of Alexander Radu Maxwell. Several years ago Alexander asked Luna if the Whomping Willow could think for itself, or if it only beat on things as a defensive reaction. The two had gone down to try to talk to the Willow, perhaps strike up a conversation and ask it to please stop trying to murder students that move near it. In the end, Alexander spent a week in the Hospital Wing.
He looked to his friend, his heart rattling in his chest like a small bird trying to escape the confines of it's cage, and opened his mouth to try to reply. Reality stepped in and he was not able to finish his thoughts. An announcement was made, all the younger students were sent to bed, and Alexander was left with a fresh set of thoughts to consider. He had heard rumors floating around about strange things going on in the school, only in his world strange things seemed to occur each day. This news was not all that odd, even considering the magnitude of the situation. With a glance at Luna, Alexander nodded mostly to himself. He might not come right out and say it, but if ever there was a time when Justin -or any of the others- needed Alexander, he would be there for them. Alexander was nothing if he was not loyal to those he cared about. Alexander would do whatever it took to help Justin in a time of need.

Smiling dreamily at him Luna sat down in a nearby chair. Alex was a good friend as they shared some interests that other people might think stupid or insane. But he didn’t so naturally they got along well with one another. There weren’t many people in her house let alone Hogwarts who didn’t tease her in some way or form about her beliefs, let alone understand some of them as she did. Not everyone meant to do it but cause lots of other people called her Loony Lovegood they only saw it natural to call her that too. She didn’t like the nickname but she never said anything to those who called her. It was their choice and something she couldn’t stop if they wished not to stop it. Just like she wouldn’t change her beliefs she was taught by her father they wouldn’t stop calling her loony. Though she was glad for the few students who did stick up for her as it was like having friends to defend you and back you up.
Though before Alex had a chance to reply to anything she has said to him Luna heard another voice from a group of people behind her. She recognised the voice as that of Justin Grant. Another person who wouldn’t ridicule her for her different beliefs. Luna wondered what he has to say to the whole common room as his called attention to himself and for the whole of the common room to listen to him. It had to be something important if Justin wanted the whole of Ravenclaw to know about it. She noticed that he was gathered with quite a few other members of the quidditch team so maybe he was going to raise people’s spirits and give a good start to the school year. That would be a good idea as if you could raise peoples spirits at the beginning of the year then it was easier to keep them high constantly than just raising them before quidditch match and other house events.
Though when he spoke he spoke of something completely different and something that surprised quite a few in the common room as Luna could tell by the shock they displayed on their faces. Though to Luna finding out that Justin was the descendant of the founder of Ravenclaw. She had heard that the founders had contacted there descants as but to who they had appeared nobody had know but the presences of the four founders had been seen by numerous seers and so had been published in both The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler. Though the stories where completely different. While The Quibbler supported this theory as usual The Daily Prophet was slashing it. They had said the seers who had foreseen this weren’t reliable and not to be listened to. Well it seems that Justin was proof of that. Maybe he’d let her father interview him for The Quibbler when he was ready to let the world know.
