eyes brown. intelligent. perceptive.
stature 5'4''. 115 lbs.
tattoos and piercings pierced ears.
distinguishing features perhaps the most distinguishable feature when it comes to hermione is her eyes. you see, they are so perceptive it seems laughable to attempt and pull something over on her. hermione's eyes are also clearly intelligent, and though she is a very talented actress and capable of disguising these aspects, they are most oft prominent.
flaws hermione is frequently made fun of due to her 'bushy' hair. though in recent years she has learned to tame it and make it look very beautiful, her first two years at hogwarts and its style then precede her where the slytherins are concerned. hermione also had slightly large front teeth during her first and second year, and though they have been replaced by perfect adult teeth the memory of the old still present jokes to be made. most often in sense of comparing hermione to a beaver.
appearance where muggle attire is concerned, hermione of course is much more fashionable then any witches or wizards who are not familiar with the non-magical world. in fact, hermione's fashion sense is rather splendid. though she doesn't put much effort in to her muggle wardrobe, it does create a statement of who she is and makes her look smashing to boot.
when in the wizarding world, hermione dresses more or less as she does regularly, which can garner a few strange looks in areas such as diagon alley. needless to say, when hermione is attending hogwarts and it is not the weekends or classes are not over for the day, she is outfitted in the standard gryffindor student uniform. hermione possesses a black cloak with red lining that fastens over her chest. on the left side of the chest the cloak bears the gryffindor house crest and a prefect pin.
beyond that, hermione wears several gryffindor sweaters and cardigans, the standard black skirt, leggings and shoes. hermione wears something that most girls do not when in uniform however, pants. on occasion, and usually less formal ones.[/ul]
I DON'T WANNA THINK LIKE YOU.
& I DON'T WANNA STINK LIKE YOU.
Hermione's favorite place at Hogwarts is the library. She could spend eternity perusing the shelves and constantly has a book or two stashed in her bag to whip out and read at any quiet moment.
- Being the most knowledgeable, smartest, etc.
The brains that are Hermione's constantly astound even her closest friends. She has a photographic memory and can memorize text after reading it once permanently. Hermione to this day calls up information from Hogwarts, A History, which she first read in the months before her first year at Hogwarts.
- Learning, broadening her knowledge, etc.
This witch can devour knowledge like no other. Not only is she capable, but Hermione handles the act of learning like an art form. Her enthusiasm has earned her quite a bit of teasing (some quite cruelly).
- Having trustworthy friends, allies, etc.
Hermione seems to pick the right people to associate with. The few times that she has instantaneously loathed someone, that someone has soon proven worthy of such negative feelings.
- Having top marks, grades, etc.
Getting top marks is essential to Hermione. If she doesn't she goes quite 'mental' as Ron would put it. It is more of a necessity then anything really.
dislikes - Being outsmarted, outclassed, etc.
It is an absolutely infuriating experience on Hermione's part. At times, like in DADA when Harry excels more then she, Hermione is elated and proud. At others, when someone else answers a question she wished to, for instance, she can become rather nasty.
- Pure-blood mania, muggle-haters, etc.
Being muggle-born, Hermione has been forced to deal with the pure-blood families (from Slytherin house) and their hate toward her and muggles constantly. Though she copes with grace most times, there have been instances when she reacts violently.
- Draco Malfoy and all relations.
Hermione loathes Draco Malfoy and all of his family and friends. Not so much as Ron or Harry, and she deals with it with a much more level head, but the feelings are still there.
- Cruelty toward House Elves, magical creatures, etc.
Hermione knows she can never see eye-to-eye with people who would treat magical creatures or house elves with cruelty. It is as horrible as slave-driving in her opinion.
- Sneaks, people you can't trust, etc.
Loyalty is a must with Hermione. Those who break their word or betray her trust or anyone else's, for that matter, aren't favored by her.
boggart failure, to be blunt. though her boggart is most viewed as failure in academic fields, the term in a general sense perhaps does more to portray hermione's fear.
patronus hermione's happiest memory is sitting in the three broomsticks with harry and ronald. her patronus takes the form of an otter, though she knows not how to conjure it yet.
mirror of erised at the most current, hermione wishes to remain the top of her year, a prodigy and border-line genius until and well beyond graduation. after that, hermione expects to use her abilities to help change laws concerning 'creatures of near-human intelligence'.
veritaserum she is deeply in love with ronald weasley - though she refuses to admit this to even herself at the moment.

birthplace hospital in london.
hometown unknown.
ethnicity hermione is caucasian and knows english and english alone.
blood hermione is muggle-born.
history hermione was born in one of the most prestigious hospitals in muggle london to entirely non-magical parents, robert and ellen granger. the grangers were renowned dentists and a very kind couple with good morality and work ethic. both were also immensely intelligent, each having several degrees of their own from elite colleges. their daughter was born with brown hair already visible and eyes that were very intelligent. they named her 'hermione'.
hermione granger was raised in a muggle suburb where her parents, when not working diligently, were filling her head with knowledge. the household was one filled with books and hermione was taught the proper respect and kindness towards books that she cherishes to this very day. robert and ellen were stupendous parents. they ensured that hermione worked hard at whatever she set her mind to, which created not only a very passionate daughter, but a very stubborn one as well.
it was very clear even from a young age that hermione had a brilliant mind, almost as if the brain-power of both her parents had been combined in her. hermione had a photographic memory, and recalled facts and passages from the books she had read as if they were before her eyes. the two parents and their daughter were not only perfect, but happy... happy and loving. hermione spent much of her childhood in the company of only adults, getting along better with her parents' friends and colleagues then the children her age.
when hermione entered school it was realized at once that she was to be seen as an oddity by her classmates. as the smartest in her class, even in kindergarden, hermione was teased due t her 'bushy' hair and 'beaver' teeth. the young girl used the hurt that this torment provided as a reason to work more diligently at her studies. she read more and more, soon immersing herself in college-level material at grade five in grade school. but... being cruelly teased by her classmates was not the only problem in the young granger's life...
things... unexplainable things happened around her. hermione once, when crying as a babe, reached out her hands. but to her parent's dismay, they could not quiet or sooth her. at last, with a grasping motion of her tiny hands, hermione snatched a stuffed animal from the air, which had floated to her from a nearby chair. that was not the only thing of this nature, though. another instance, when a popular classmate - a girl, to be precise - compared the color of her hair to mud, hermione felt a searing rage rise within her. the next moment, that same classmate's hair turned to mud. when it was washed from her scalp the girl was completely bald - it took an entire year to grow back.
ellen and robert were at a loss to explain these and many other similar things with their powerful and logical minds. but one fateful day, a letter arrived at the granger household, one that was destined to change not only hermione's future, but the outlook that the entire family shared on the world outside. the day after the letter arrived - just as that same letter foretold - an elderly man and a stern-looking woman appeared on their doorstep. they declared themselves as professors dumbledore and mcgonagall... hermione liked the woman very much just at that first meeting.
the professors went on to explain why hermione was so special, and of the school that the man was headmaster of; hogwarts. it took a great deal for this fantastical raze of logic to impregnate the parents and daughter's minds, but once it had done so (after professor dumbledore pulled out a stick - a wand, he called it - and caused an orb of fire to dart around the room) things took a calmer turn. it was decided that hermione would attend this hogwarts school and learn to control her magic. because that was just the thing of it! hermione was a witch!
after a visit to diagon alley, where hermione purchased a great deal of books and all of her necessary supplies for school, she eagerly awaited the day that she would embark on her way to hogwarts. and come it did. hermione boarded the hogwarts express, bid her parents a fond farewell, and began a new and fantastical chapter in her young life. on the train, hermione made acquaintances with several other first years. she also met the two boys harry potter and ronald weasley, who she did not necessarily like at first.
in the coming year it was obvious that hermione was the most intelligent and naturally talented witch in her year. she was sorted in to gryffindor and after an incident in the girl's lavatory with a cave troll, hermione became very good friends with harry and ron. as the year wore on the three friends discovered that the sorcerer's stone was being kept at hogwarts. through a series of events they also grew to speculate that potion master severus snape was attempting to retrieve it in order to resurrect the dark lord, who harry had defeated when no more then a babe.
hermione proved invaluable to harry and ron as they tried to get to the stone first, getting through multiple protections that various professors had set in place. finally, hermione was forced to leave harry to his fate and take an unconscious ron to find medical treatment. in fact, professor quirell was the actual villain in this entire scheme, and harry not only faced the dark wizard after hermione left him, but also reduced him to nothing but a pile of ash. hermione, of course, passed all exams with above one-hundred percentile marks.
in the summer after her first year, hermione wrote letters to both harry and ronald. it was curious, for harry never wrote back, though ron did, if not sparingly. the second year for the trio was even more eventful then the last. not long in to their term, a message appeared on a school wall that declared the 'chamber of secrets had been reopened'. after a bit of digging, and a very interesting lesson with professor binns in history of magic, hermione discovered that the chamber was actually a place where salazar slytherin, founder of hogwarts and slytherin house, had locked away a monster.
that monster, led supposedly by the heir of slytherin, continued to make violent attacks on members of the student body in the upcoming months. hermione knew that as a muggle-born she was likely to be attacked, so she went about brewing the infamously tricky polyjuice potion in order for her, harry and ron to see if draco (who they expected to be) was the heir. hermione accidentally added the hairs of a cat to her personal dosage and the results were disastrous.
hermione spent the next few weeks confined to the hospital wing and only taking harry and ron as visitors. again, only too soon after, hermione fled to the library on a wild thought and found that she had discovered just exactly what the 'monster' was. a basilisk. alas, on her way to confide in not only her friends, but the staff, she was attacked by the beast and petrified. she remained so until the end of term, after which harry and ron had slain the beast and destroyed the diary of tom riddle.
the summer after this term, hermione grew to become a more natural member of the wizarding world. she left her parents early during the holiday and stayed with the weasleys for a time before going back to hogwarts. she was not unaware of the fact that the wicked mass-murderer sirius black had escaped from the wizarding prison, azkaban. at the beginning of her third year, hermione recieved a time-turner from professor mcgonagall which would enable her with the means to attend all the classes she wished to (all of them) regardless of their being scheduled at the same time.
hermione went through the year becoming greater friends with harry and ron, and coming to feel something for ron that she realized she didn't feel in the same regards to harry. hermione and her friends made the sobering discovery that sirius black was the one who had told he-who-must-not-be-named the location of harry's parents when he was a babe, and inevitably was the reason for their murder. with a rather nasty experience with the fraud, professor trelawny, hermione dropped the subject of divination, though she did not cease using her time-turner.
at the end of the year, hermione was invaluable to harry as the two raced to save ron, who had been dragged away by the 'grim'. when they reached the shrieking shack through a secret passage concealed beneath the whomping willow however, in a great confrontation it was revealed that sirius (who was the 'grim' by means of being an animagus) was a friend and ally, and that ron's rat, scabbers was actually peter pettigrew, the real reason for harry's parent's murder. professor lupin made the horrible transformation in to a werewolf once back on hogwarts grounds, however, and sirius fought him off.
hermione and harry ended up having to go back in time via use of the time-turner. not only did they distract and fend off the werewolf form of remus lupin, but they also saved sirius and harry (at an earlier time) from a swarm of dementors. still do did they save the condemned hippogriff, buckbeak from death and used him to save sirius from the dark tower and the fate of the dementor's kiss. sirius escaped, and the trio completed another eventful year of their education.
in her fifth year, hermione accompanied harry and the weasleys to the quidditch world cup. when deatheaters attacked during the festivities, hermione and her friend managed to remain safe. the following term, hogwarts played host to the tri-wizard tournament, and in turn played host to the two other wizarding schools of beauxbatons and durmstrange, each foreign. the champions of the tournament were chosen, and none other then harry potter himself was picked by the goblet of fire as a second champion to represent hogwarts, creating a huge scandal.
hermione watched, confounded, as ron severed ties with harry out of rage while at the same time she knew that harry did not want such a fate and did not know who had placed his name in the goblet. during the next month or so, hermione played mediator between her two friends, trying to get each to apologize but making no headway. when hagrid told harry that the first task was to be against dragons, hermione put forth her best efforts to help him prepare, but none of her attempts were as helpful as that of professor moody's.
harry survived the first task, and after it ron and he reconciled. hermione was relieved. alas, when the ever-popular, ever-handsom and ever-famous durmstrang student, viktor krum, took an interest to hermione, things became strained once more. this time between herself and ronald. at last things reached their breaking point as hermione attended the yule ball with viktor himself and enraged ron. after this came the second task, where hermione was taken as a 'captive' for viktor to retrieve at the bottom of the black lake. she was retrieved.
after this second task (and after hermione admitted that she and viktor had decided to remain friends) ronald and hermione made up and became friends again. hermione remained the top of her year up to the third and final task. she tried to help harry prepare, and proved invaluable to his survival... but disaster struck... harry's trip to the graveyard... the murder of cedric diggory... the resurrection of the dark lord... the fact that professor moody was in fact a deatheater imposter... all came crashing down on hermione, ron and harry's heads.
after cedric's memorial service, when dumbledore announced you-know-who's return, hogwarts bid beauxbatons and durmstrang farewell and the term ended on a somber and frightening note. however, in the weeks to come hermione was horror-struck to see that the prophet and ministry were doing everything in their power to discredit dumbledore and harry, making them jokes. she had prolonged stay at grimmauld place and learned much staying at and helping clean the new headquarters for the order of the phoenix. she was also made prefect, along with ronald, and is now attending her fifth year at hogwarts... one that will prove to be perhaps more fateful then the last... Hermione ran as fast as she could possibly manage through the towering shelves of dusty glass orbs. Her breath escaped in frantic gasps as flashes of light assailed her eyes and miniature explosions and shattering glass pestered her ears. Hermione turned a corner and her breath hitched at the sight of a black-cloaked figure sprinting toward her. The figure's hood was drawn, but in the light coming from the person's wand Hermione could see clearly a mask wrought of silver in place beneath that hood. Fear threatened to claw up her throat, but she forced it down sternly.
The man – for undoubtedly this was a male – raised an arm to brandish his wand as sparks trailed from the tip in preparation for the inevitable curse. Hermione was quicker! The witch’s own wand flashed through the air as lips moved to gasp an incantation. “Reducto!” glass spheres shattered with deafening shrieks, forcing the approaching Deatheater to abandon his attack and instead shield himself with a quick charm. Pearly figures unfolded from the remains of the orbs and whispered their prophecies of yesterdays in a jumbled and eerie symphony.
Whatever Hermione might be, she was not an idiot. The moment her spell had begun to work she was off, running down the aisles of the Hall of Prophecy in attempts to put as much distance between herself and her pursuer as possible. Thankfully, Hermione was very quick on her feet, and even quicker with her reflexes. Quickest still was her mind, which churning and sped all the while with vigorous effort. She was honestly looking for any of her friends, having been separated when the group first escaped their enemies. Harry had reached for her, but Hermione had been forced to discard him so that they both could avoid a potentially fatale jinx.
Hermione felt desperate tears glitter against the bottommost of her vision and blinked them back furiously. Crying would only get her killed. The witch turned yet another corner as she heard an entire shelf of prophecies shatter in the distance. Something soft slammed against her and Hermione toppled sideways along with Ron, who she had just run straight in to. “Hermi-” The girl reached a hand that shook terribly up and clapped it across the red-head’s mouth. “Shhh!” Ron hurriedly got to his feet and helped her up after him.
Hermione looked at Ron with relief so strong it was dizzying… Then she heard the flap of robes, the snarl of a grown man and a sound of unbridled lightning. Time seemed to slow as her awareness accelerated. It was as if the air had decided to turn to honey and she was forced to wade through it. Ronald’s eyes widened as light filled their recesses, reflected off of the attack that was coming from behind Hermione. His mouth opened and his wand raised just as his free hand thrust her roughly down another row. The witch stumbled and began to fall backwards, all the while watching helplessly as a bolt of silver light came at Ron.
“Protego!” Hermione’s heart tore as she watched in this maddening pace of time as the curse washed over Ron’s unseen protective charm. Just as it appeared to hold, the brunt of the attack hit. The shield shattered and the last of the curse washed through to throw Ron on his back. It had all happened in a moment and Hermione regained her balance as tears leaked through the corners of her eyes. “Ron!” She tried to get to him, but as she entered the walkway where her friend lay hurt, the Deatheater closed in. Hermione’s wand flashed through the air reflexively and a glittering spell crackled over it. There was a moment of silence as her enemy looked stunned that her charm remained in tact, just as Hermione’s eyes darted from the hooded figure to the lump that was Ron.
Fear and panic shivered through Hermione’s eyes… but in a moment they were overcome with a fire composed of not only purest rage, but determination. “Petrificus Totalus!” White light was expelled from Hermione’s wand with such force that it bathed the entire area for a single moment, illuminating everything. Then the Deatheater went completely rigid, dropping his wand. Not only that, but the force of Hermione’s spell was such that the man’s body was sent soaring backward, disappearing in darkness.
The fire in the witch’s eyes died and hysteria returned at once. Hermione turned and bent over Ron’s limp form. Tears still dripped steadily from her eyes, and her lips quivered. She waved her wand over Ron’s chest and whispered a spell with a shaking voice. There was a small flash of light and Hermione waited… Just as she was about to break down entirely there came from Ron a distant moan. “Ron!” Without knowing what she was doing, Hermione threw herself over the boy’s chest and hugged him tightly against her. “Umm… Hermione?” The witch’s eyes flicked open with a look of surprise and she quickly stood up. “Erm… Come one!” She helped Ron to stand and they both disappeared in to darkness.
