personality In some ways, Quentin is not like other Slytherins. When it comes to Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, as long as they don't bother him and strike insults first, he's fine with them. He won't go looking for fights with the other houses, unless it's Gryffindors. But even then, he'll be laid back until they start arguing with him. He's also not afraid to throw a punch.
Just like he has some differences with Slytherins, they are also a lot alike (he was put into that house, after all). His temper never fails him. He tends to have a slightly larger ego than others. He's good at twisting words to benefit him. Even though he may not show it all the time, he thinks he's better than any other student in Hogwarts, and smarter than most of the teachers.[/ul]

history With both his parents a wizard, Quentin hopes that he would also get those powers. There was always the chance of him becoming a Squib, he thought. He knew his father would be chill with either, thinking that he is still his son and everything, His mother, on the other hand, he knew wouldn't be. She has always been extremely strict and wants everything her way. That's also the main reason Quen is so nice and chill today- he wanted to be more like his dad than his mother. It was safe to say that he was glad to see a letter with the Hogwarts crest on it when he turned 11.
The first thing that his parents did after discovering his powers was bring him to Diagon Alley and buy him his first broomstick, which is the main reason he's so attached to that sport today. When he got home, his father took him in the backyard and taught him the basics of flying. He picked it up rather quick and practiced that for hours on end.
On Christmas vacation in his second year, he had a friend over that he met in Slytherin. His friend also happens to be a werewolf, but Quen's parents didn't know that. When it was time for him to change, the two boys ran outtside into the woods, his friend having a potion to drink so he can keep his mind, but he still had to transform. While they were fooling around, another young boy, about the age of 6, walked by the two Slytherins and they thought it would be so funny to scare the boy and bare his teeth. Unfortunately, his friend scraped a fang accidentally on the 6 year old. They then found out that, even if the teeth just scrape another person, they one attacked becomes a werewolf too. Being so young, the experience traumatized him, and he is now afraid of other werewolves, besides that one friend.
Now, in his last year in this school, he doesn't hate or like it here, but he deals with it. Alec doesn't have any best friends, but he does have some that are relatively close to him. To say that he would die for them wouldn't be true, but he would definitely stick up for them in a fight. He has excelled in two classes- Potions and Transfiguration- and has done exceptionally well in the rest. Charms would certainly be his lowest grade, but even that wasn't bad.[/ul]

Jace nodded at her, letting her know that he would like that very much. Even though her mother was a complete stranger, he still knew what it was like to live without parents and he felt compassion for her and what she has to go through. For him, it was much better not having to worry about anything because there was no family left than to sit and wait for results and worry because someone you love is practically on their death bed. Everyone dies eventually, that's all he keeps telling himself, so it was better to get it over with.
He hesitated, debating on say this or not. Finally, he decided it wouldn't harm anyone. "If you ever want to, there's plenty of empty rooms at the Lightwood's house. They would probably let you spend a couple nights if you ever chose to. They're a nice family. You could find out what it's like to have siblings, both older and younger too." He could always make the arguement that she was just his guest, and if needed and she approves, he could let them in on her mother's condition. They may feel sorry for her and let her stay. "It would give you a chance to taste Isabelle's cooking as well........ Good luck with that," he added.
"And he didn't listen to you? He's more dense than I thought," he said. Why would he not listen to that advice? Even more so considering Simon and Clary were apparently so close with each other. "Different ways..." he trailed off. "You always seem to make things that are bad seem not so horrible. 'He doesn't have problems, just a different way of doing things,'" he said, trying to get his voice to sound like hers, although that was nearly impossible.
Jace smiled as if being presented with a high honor. "I knew you thought that of me. Was that so hard to admit? You have to be like the typical girl in some way." No one can be different in every way. "Better things to do than talk about me? Is that even possible? I think you're trying to pull my leg here." Well, maybe Quidditch was better, but she didn't seem like the sporty type, so she probably didn't find much interest in that sport. Other than that, drawing was the only thing that seemed like her that she may enjoy more. In his mind, drawing didn't come close. He couldn't draw a straight line if his life depended on it.
Raising both of his eyebrows, he smiled and shrugged. "You're just going to have to wait to find out. Whether it's Hogwarts or Hogsmeade, we're still breaking curfew and other school rules, so does it matter? But I will say that it's not any of those places you just mentioned." So, she has an even wider variety of places to guess now. It didn't bother Jace. Knowing too much isn't all it's cracked up to be, he thought. She could go just a few more hours before she finds out.
At her next question, his face fell into an emotionless state, but on the inside his stomach turned. How was he supposed to answer that question without seeming a bit creepy? "You don't think people notice you, but they do," was all he said. It wasn't a lie- not just because he doesn't lie- but someone had to have noticed her in order for them to tell him something about Clary.
