history Remus grew up in a loving home surrounded by his parents who cared for him well. He was their pride, their joy, and their hope for the future. They taught him everything. He would tail his mother and father all the time absorbing everything he could. His father loved to read so Remus would take his picture books as a child and pretend to read like his father, which lead them to teaching him to read at age 5. From then on he never stopped reading. When he was about 7 his father fell onto the bad side of Fenrir Greyback and Remus became the target.
One dark night when the full moon was out he heard a noise in the backyard. He walked out to the yard thinking one of his friends had come to visit; instead however, a great black werewolf attacked biting him then running off. He ran in crying waking his parents who ran to him. His father’s face blanched and he whispered to his mother, who also blanched. They both turned to the frightened boy braking to him that his life would now be much harder. At the age of 7 Remus Lupin was living up to his name, he was a werewolf. For the next several years his parents worked to try and find a cure, but eventually gave up. He learned to live with it, however he gave up on having a social life or any from of normal life. Every time he trusted someone enough to tell them they saw him as a danger and ran away. Eventually he just stopped telling anyone and buried himself in the books he’d loved since childhood. When he was 11 though, relief came in the form of a letter that proved that someone had faith in him. His Hogwarts letter came in the clutched of a large brown barn owl.
Once he got to the train he said goodbye to his parents petrified and managed to walk into a compartment filled with three boys. One very handsome one with black hair, another with similarly colored hair and glasses, and the last was a rounder blonde boy who looked almost as nervous as Remus felt, if not more. As they Talked Remus found he quite enjoyed the two black haired boys and the blonde boy, though very quiet and skittish, was very sweet. They grew together and became friends very quickly and ended up becoming very close. It wasn’t long before Remus started to pull away from the fear of them hurting him and running away, but after a short time the three very clever boys figured it out. The instant they brought it up, he was ready to run, but then they told him it was ok and they would help him. He agreed and they became inseparable. He also found a friend in Lily Evans, a sweet girl who was just as brilliant as he was. The five of them grew together over the years and he trained the other four how to be animegi when they asked.
He was happy, he felt normal 28 out of 31 days in the month, and then the unthinkable happened. The war started just before the five graduated and they all joined the good guys. They fought valiantly until Lily and jams got pregnant the first year of their marriage. Two years later they went into hiding but it didn’t work three of his best friends died and the last was arrested for the murders. He turned cold at the end of the world and buried himself in nothing at all. He got odd jobs everywhere he could, sometimes lying to get them, but nothing lasted long. He lived for years like that until last year when he got a job at Hogwarts. He was reunited with Sirius, realizing that it wans’t he who betrayed their friends, but Peter, their last friend who they thought was dead but was living as a rat with the Weasleys, some old friends from school and the Order. He joined the Order to fight the new war as soon as he left that teaching post and met Nymphadora Tonks, or Tonks as she preferred, and has been talking and nursing at attraction to her ever since. He is trying to stop his feelings for her, but has thus far been unsuccessful.

Avalon walked slowly and apprehensively down the stairs. She was not looking forward to what she was going to have to do tonight. She couldn’t avoid it much longer through, she owed it to Marlene through, and she had been back at Hogwarts for a few weeks and she had avoided the topic since. Avalon had not been strong enough to touch on the subject of Regulus while Marlene had been visiting her in London, and at the moment she felt like the raw sting of his seething glares and hurtful words would never stop. Still she needed to let Marlene understand it wasn’t her fault Avalon has run off. Avalon had known that Marlene and Regulus were in the works of becoming a pair. They actually worked quite well together. They were much better balanced than she and Reg. Marlene was much calmer about things than the once fiery and fiercely flirtatious and over friendly Ava. Avalon smiled a little at the memories that she could only keep inside and hope they didn’t bring her back to a state of sobbing.
Avalon had realized since she’d been back that she was been far too in love with her first romance. Before him she had never seriously looked at a boy as anything other than a fun person to flirt with. Now, with a scarred heart and a wounded memory, she could honestly look at her life and realize that fairytales were frauds. She realized that everyone’s words on first love really were true. It was the purest because you have yet to experience pain. Now was not the time to worry about those things through, now was time to lock them up, take a deep breath, and meet her friend in the common room as a composed and strong woman. A woman who wasn’t afraid of pain and could handle all the tears this specific situation had brought her. So that is what she did.
Avalon strongly inhaled and held that life giving element for a moment then released the essence. She buried all the pain and every happy memory that held the sharp knife she had come to relate with them deep into her mind. She locked them away again in their large but inescapable box that could be found there in hopes that they would suffocate each other and let her rest in peace each night. In the hopes that one day those joy-filled laughs and gentle, loving touches and smiles would run away and not make her dream of what might have been. Avalon tried to remind herself that she had resolved to be happy for her best friend in finding such a loyal and gently love. She had promised she would be good about the situation and trod lightly. There was not to be pain in this or guilt for Marlene. Any guilt for the situation was to be placed squarely on her shoulders. She had been a fool; she had expected Regulus to wait forever. She knew now that that was not possible. So with her last memory locked away she took the last step into the common room and walked proudly and with a smile that did not betray the unsure feelings inside her and sat straight and stiff on the golden couch to wait for Marlene.
Since Avalon had returned to her beloved school she had done her best to keep up the façade of the happy girl she had always been here. In passing and with acquaintances it worked, through people who were very close to her, people who had some connection to past pain with her, like Rendetta, knew better. She had not discovered if it worked on her roommates yet, though she doubted they had missed the sparkle that no longer dwelt in her hollow lifeless brown orbs that were meant to be eyes. She assumed it was a hard thing to miss. Still she had tried so hard to keep the news from her roommates. Marlene had agreed to meet Avalon in the common room before journeying through the halls in hopes of finding a quiet and private place to talk. It was a personal matter for both, through Marlene and Regulus had spent most of the ball together it did not seem like everyone knew of Regulus’ new affection. Granted most people did, but not all, not yet. So This was to be a quiet meeting.
It was such an easy thing to look at the common room when it was empty and lifeless and feel at home. She had a few times over the weeks on nights when she couldn’t sleep or had woken from too painful dreams only to fall asleep on the couch and be woken by some light coming through one of the windows. This however, a room bursting with life and energy, this made her feel like she was in an almost Alien situation. How long had she been gone? Two months, almost three? That didn’t seem that long, but months turned to lifetimes while she was away. So much had changed. Many of her friends did not know how to react to her anymore, and she honestly didn’t know if it was because she was different or they were. This house, the house so known for its kindness; this house so riddled by the pain of the recent loss of a dear friend, this was her homeless house. Still to dwell in memories of what had been, what might be again if she tried hard, that was why she stayed. She knew that she would only hate herself if she fled from the chance to be happy again, like she was before.
